Nearly every question we get on the phone comes down to one decision: what the tag is made of. That choice sets the price, the look, and how long it survives a shift. Here is each material with its specifics side by side.
Plastic Name Tags
Full-color printing edge to edge, light to wear and the lowest cost per tag we make. The default for schools, events and high-turnover staff, and the one our customer reorders most.
Metal Name Tags
Aluminum and executive brass with framed or beveled edges, printed full color or deep engraved. Holds up to years of daily wear and reads as senior, which is why restaurants and hotels put them on front-of-house staff.
Window Name Tags
A printed frame with a slot for an insert card, and insert cards are included. Swap the name when staff change and the tag itself is bought once, so the cost lands where turnover is high.
Chalkboard Name Tags
Your logo printed permanently, the name written in chalk marker and wiped clean afterwards. Made for rotating shifts, volunteers and one-off events where the same tags go out again next month.

Can you print a different name on every tag?
Yes. Send us a spreadsheet of names and titles and each tag comes back printed individually, finished and ready to hand out. There is no per-name charge and no separate art fee for each one.
Is there a setup fee or a minimum order?
No setup fee, and minimums are low — most tags start at one piece. The plate and setup charges that make small runs uneconomical elsewhere are not on our invoice.
Will I see the tag before it prints?
Yes. Every custom order gets a free quote and proof. You approve the layout, the spelling and the color in writing before anything goes on press, which is why reprints are rare.
How do the tags attach?
Pin, magnet or clip. Magnets are the usual choice where staff wear their own clothing, since nothing punctures the fabric. Tell us which you want on the quote and we fit it before shipping.
